I work with clients virtually from all over the world. Some of them are also working with local lactation consultants. This arrangement tends to work really well! I guide the parent(s) with a plan for inducing lactation, relactation, and/or co-lactation and the local IBCLC can help with pump rental, flange-fitting, latch and positioning, access to local resources, etc. Sometimes the local IBCLC will participate in our virtual consultations.
I love working with the local IBCLC. We provide the best support when we work collaboratively and learn from each other. And, it is just plain fun to connect with colleagues!
